Peer Editing

In most cases, I have found peer editing to be beneficial. Peer editing can be somewhat of a challenge though. Personally, I have encountered some helpful peer editing sesions while attending South Alabama. The opinions of our peers can be just as helpful as professional help. I find it important that we, as peers, can all help each other out. Being able to professionally and mannerly critique someone else's writing is a useful skill to acquire.

What I have learned about peer editing is that you need to have respect for another student's writing no matter what. Even if you disagree with the thesis of the paper you are critiquing, it is only acceptable to critique anothers student's paper without a biased attitude. One should only focus on the success of the paper. Along with that, a student needs encouragement, rather than bashing the student's work. Making suggestions is usually the nicest way to offer criticism. If done correctly, peer editing can be a successful method.

  1. Be sure to include the links of the resources/videos that were in the instructions of the assignment. What did you learn from the videos you watched?
