Blog Post 5- PLNs What are they? 1

Personal Learning Networks

PLNs are different for everyone. This idea is new to me, but I wish I would have heard about PLNs sooner. A PLN is a network of resources that are helpful and beneficial to a specific individual. I chose to create my PLN with Symbaloo. Using symbaloo allows me to have all my resources in one area, such as Twitter, Facebook, and search engines. Twitter and Facebook allow me to interact with other students, as well as professor, to receive needed advice or updates on any information. I am sure my PLN will evolve over time. Right now my PLN is pretty basic, but I will add more as I learn what resources are best for me.

  1. Hello Taylor, I'm glad to see a fellow Secondary Education/ English Major in EDM310, and I'm quite sure that you're PLN will undoubtedly grow as the class progresses. Evidence to this very fact lies within our class assignments considering that half of them relate to commenting and getting in touch with other educators and students. I also fully believe that this expanded network of contacts and professional sources will make precision movement within the field of education much simpler and more eloquent.

  2. The important thing for PLNs is the collection of people and resources that you can call on for help. Time to start building it!.

  3. Very good and well written blog. You're PLN will grow as the class goes on and we further expand our sources with others in the same field as we are.
