Search Engines: Each engine listed is also a link!
1. Galaxy.com
This search engine differs from your "typical" search engine, such as Google, because it is also includes a directory. This engine is useful to use when broad research is needed. The directory can be a helpful tool. Breaking research down into categories helps the researcher bring new ideas to the table. I have never before used this search engine, but I am sure I will in the future.
2. Icerocket.com
Icerocket is a search engine used to search blogs. This search engine would be useful to find certain blogs for research or just for enjoyment. From my experience, this search engine is quite easy to navigate and also includes a way to search Facebook and Twitter. This engine also allows an individual to add their own blog to the database.

Sphere connects your research to blog posts, articles, videos, and photos that are included on the web. This engine can be useful when trying to find hard copies of evidence to back your thesis. Sphere is mainly useful for finding relevance to your own research.
4. Lexisnexis.com
Personally, I have used Lexisnexis many times when writing research papers. All of the sources found in Lexisnexis are considered "valuable" and "scholarly" sources. This search engine includes mainly articles and journals that relate to the topic of your choice. This is probably one of my favorite search engines because of its high credibility.
5. Email-search.org
This search engine is pretty self-explanatory. Email-search.org allows one to look up email addresses. I believe this would come in handy when a needed email address in not accessible right at hand.
6. Youtube.com
Youtube is quite popular during this time. Youtube allows you to search videos. This search engine, in my opinion, is so simple to use.

Yahoo news offers current and breaking news. This search engine is useful for current events, which you can relate to research. I use this search engine quite regularly to stay on top of current events.
8. Wolframalpha.com
This search engine is new to me. WolframAlpha is useful for figuring out math equations and giving calculations. While experimenting with this search engine, I figured out how to deal with nutritional facts. I will definitely be using this search engine for future references.
